SAMANTHA
Samantha is a spoiled and self-absorbed 8-year-old kid. She loves when her parents buy her toys and ice cream, her favorite ice cream flavor is pistachio, and her favorite toy is a big electrical car that she uses to drive around her mansion every day. Even though most of the time she can be mean, she can also be very loving and fun. She is afraid of the dark, chickens, lizards, and cows.
Her grandparents have a not-that-fancy farm. And during the pandemic, her parents decided to go over and stay with them until it’s over, so Samantha learns what the live of a hard worker is. Because they live in a very small town, she can hang out with some kids from the neighborhood. During her stay, and with the help of her grandparents and the help of her new friends, she learns to value what she has, and learns how to enjoy life in the countryside. Information about my choices for costume, weaponry, style, etc.
Even though Samantha uses a ballet costume, she doesn’t know how to dance ballet, she just likes the look and demanded to her parents to buy one for her. She wears a crown because her mom always tells her that she is the princess of the family, so once again, she demanded for a real crown.
When she and her family arrived to the farm, her parents decided to give her cowgirl boots so she doesn’t ruin her normal shoes
Information about my character’s world
She initially lives at a mansion in Malibu, but eventually moves to Kansas to her grandparents’ farm
Factors I considered while creating my character/ Influences that impacted my decisions
I considered many things while doing this design. First, I made her head bigger that usual to portray that she is a self-absorbed kid. On the other hand, I did the lower part of the legs and her feet to be the same size because she eventually grounds herself.
This character was mainly influenced from my little cousin, she is not self-absorbed, but my main inspiration was from her. The main style influence was the line style from the TV show Hilda, this style inspired me to use a “wiggly” line instead of a smooth perfect line.
